Yes – I’m having a Summer Sale! I didn’t have the ACJ anniversary/ my birthday sale in February because so much stuff was going on plus winter was kicking my butt on a daily basis. Maybe I’ll tell you about it sometime later, but right now, SALE!
Take 25% off all jewelry in stock from now thru July 30th.
Did you know that I keep a list of interesting places based on gemstones? That’s not really surprising, is it? Well, one of these spots is the Water Wave Life Fountain on display in Vienna, Austria. It’s a massive structure carved out of 18.3 tons of Lapis Lazuli from Chile.
I probably won’t be visiting that spot any time soon (I’d rather check out the original source in Chile anyway), but when I spied a strand of hand-carved Lapis Lazuli oblongs I was immediately reminded of the fountain so I snatched them up. And then I sat on them for about a year. Well, didn’t actually sit on them… I just kept not making jewelry out of them. I did try to make one pendant, but it wasn’t until this month that I felt my skills and designs could do them justice. Because my eight lovely pieces of Lapis were carved to show off the Pyrite and White Calcite in them, each piece is different yet equally beautiful. Energetically, the combination is magical!
Know yourself and stand in your power.
Lapis Lazuli resides in the deeper blues of Serenity blue. It vibrates most frequently at the third eye and throat chakra centers. Lapis Lazuli aids us in our ability to expand our self-awareness. It is a good stone for us to use during meditation where we can achieve a clearer perspective of our abilities as well as our limitations. In this sense, the Serenity comes from tapping into Lapis Lazuli’s assistance with our self-knowledge and self-reflection. Lapis is sometimes accompanied by Pyrite and/or Calcite and both of these gemstone’s energies add highly desirable dimensions to how this gemstone can be called to action.
Lapis Lazuli that contains golden flecks of Pyrite is considered to be the finest grade of the gem. Lapis Lazuli with Pyrite inclusions assists us in putting our expanding self-awareness into action. Pyrite’s vibration is considered masculine energetically. What’s significant about this is that it allows women and those more aligned with feminine energy to tap into a different way of accessing manifestation, willpower, and creativity that we might not normally consider.
Calcite is an amplifying mineral: it takes the energy of the gemstones or people around it and expands it. Calcite also has the ability to help clear negative energy rather than amplify it, which opens up the way for more positive energy to flow. Lapis Lazuli with white Calcite inclusions is an excellent stone to enlist when dealing with the negative push-back. Calcite can help us to not just refrain from feeding into the negativity but to draw strength and determination from it.
Lapis Lazuli is definitely one gemstone we can all benefit from having in our jewelry collection for its beauty as well as its energetic properties. Think of it this way: If knowledge is power, then self-awareness = knowledge = power.I’ve added these pieces and a few more to my Into The Blue series. I redesigned the pendant with Labradorite to allow more of the Lapis to show. Check them out here.
Yeah, you may think “Amy, isn’t it a bit late to be talking about winter?” Nope, we had a snowstorm warning just last week. I tell you, this winter almost broke me… but being the hardy Minnesotan that I am (ha!) I just wiped away my tears of despair, picked up my shovel and trudged on. And then I made more jewelry.
Enough about winter – it’s one of the excuses reasons that I’m going to use for why I have been blog silent for so long. I may have been silent, but I was not dormant. Here’s what’s happening for/with/at Amy Cousin Jewelry.
ACJ at Artist’s Market
Amy Cousin Jewelry has been selected to participate in the Springboard for the Arts artist pop-up at SpringBox on Sunday, May 5th from 10 am to 5 pm. This is the first live event I’ve done in a looooong time, and I’d love to see you there, if you’re in the Twin Cities area.
It also means that all items in my website shop will be closed from May 5th to May 6th.
HipSilver features Amy Cousin Jewelry!
I am proud to announce that ACJ’s Upcycled collection has been picked up by HipSilverand that my Motherboard pieces are featured in the Mother’s Day Collection. HipSilver, based in New York, is curated by Gail Bruce for men and women of the silver generation, connecting them to products, ideas, and inspiration.
I’ve probably mentioned my list of favorite gemstones before. It’s been an ever-growing list… until now. Super Seven crystal just might be the gemstone to rule them all because, well, I’ll just let you read my article.
The snow is finally melting! Yes, I know it’s mid-April. Such has been life in Minnesota. So much snow for far too long. Even though I’ve been snowbound for what’s seemed like forever, I also started contributing and collaborating with some awesome platforms (ok, Neil deGrasse Tyson says awesome should be reserved for science, but maybe he should check out these events too).
I’ll probably create an Events calendar, but until then, here are some upcoming happenings that I hope you can take advantage of.
The Summit begins April 21st – if you haven’t signed up do so now. You won’t want to miss this event. You will learn tips and techniques on self-care, mindfulness, health and wellness topics such as beating fatigue, hormonal imbalances, managing stress, osteoporosis, food allergies and digestive issues.
Building A Community To Support YOU!
This event is to create a community to support, educate and empower women in the 2nd prime of their life. Life may be different – but it’s not over!
Gifts Valued At Over $1500!
By signing up you will receive over $1500 in gifts delivered to your inbox! These gifts include music, meditations, videos, herbal remedies, detox/weight-loss program, digital books and much more!
If you’re local and have also finally emerged from the snow, I invite you to the 31st annual IMAGE Art Show at the East Central Regional Arts Council.
I am one of the artists participating in this juried exhibit. The opening celebration is on Saturday, April 21st from 5 to 8 pm. The show will be open until April 27th.
This is more of an extension of an event, but it holds a special place in my heart:
SpendIndie was the official producer of this year’s first Wellness Expo at SXSW. I was hoping to share the news that I was one of the of event speakers, but I only made it to the standby list. I’m not mad – who would even be a no-show at such an amazing event! Amy Cousin Jewelry was also invited to have a booth at the Wellness Expo, but I couldn’t make it happen, this year. Ohhh but I am so there for 2019!!
In the meantime, I’m pleased to announce that Amy Cousin Jewelry has joined SpendIndie’s online market. I have a few items posted and will be adding more. When you visit the site, will you share and rate my pieces? That will help me keep the SXSW Wellness Expo booth offer on the table for ACJ.
I appreciate your support. Have a beautiful weekend!
How could I have forgotten? I’m one of those people who seriously considered a January do-over. Crossing into the new year did not automatically reset the weirdness that was 2017. To be honest, last year had just as many highs as it had lows, so I finally decided to appreciate the good stuff. I’ll be sharing the good stuff as it rolls out – soon.
So this is how it’s come to be the end of February without me noticing so much. I launched Amy Cousin Jewelry at the same time we were closing down our bricks & mortar shop. While I miss the shop and slathering fragrance oil blends on anyone who would let me, I am so thankful that I have been able to grow ACJ from wrapping tumbled stones for customers to creating a jewelry sideline for the shop to launching as ACJ and fully stepping into my purpose as a gemstone intuitive. I couldn’t have done it without your support and interest, and even telling your friends about ACJ. That’s why the best part of celebrating is sharing with you!
My article on gender-based gemstone energy is featured in The Wellness Universe. I wrote it a few months ago in response to the many requests I’ve had – from women and some men – to help them balance their feminine and masculine energies in order to deal with the all that has been unleashed in 2017.
Also, I submitted the article – which I titled Moonstones Aren’t Just For Women: Gender-Based Gemstone Energy – several months before the original #MeToo hashtag was embraced and adopted by Hollywood. I’m sure I’ll write a follow article.
